Police to flashi lights for one minute in honor of fallen officers

SAN ANTONIO - In an effort to honor the one-year anniversary of the attack on Dallas police officers that left five dead, Governor Abbott is calling on patrol cars statewide to turn on their flashing lights for one minute at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7.

The 60-second show of solidarity will also honor police killed in the line of duty.

Abbott will be speaking at the funeral for fallen San Antonio Police Officer Miguel Moreno which is Friday at Community Bible Church starting at 10 a.m.

Moreno was killed after being shot in the face while patrolling near San Antonio College on June 29.

The service will be broadcast live on KENS 5 and streamed on Kens5.com and Facebook page.

Patrol cars in Austin will line in front of the State Capitol to flash their red and blue lights at 10 a.m. Law enforcement officials across the state are encouraged to participate in their own cities.
