SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Independent School District Police need your help with catching arsonists who set a school bus on fire last month.
It happened the night of November 16 at the SAISD transportation center on Roland Avenue.
Security cameras were rolling when one of the suspects jumped the fence and lights one of the buses on fire.
In the security footage, he is seen running back and forth from the bus, eventually setting it on fire. He even goes back to close the bus doors.
The same suspect was then caught on camera messing with an electrical box, while the other suspect watched. One individual shut off the power, then they both took off running.
Leslie Price is a spokesperson for SAISD. She said two buses were damaged in the fire.
“We estimate from the damages, around $120,000,” Price said. “One of those buses was brand new, so it’s really a shame this has happened, we’re hoping somebody who knows something about it could share information.”
Police said the suspects appear to be two young males. Campus crime stoppers may pay a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. As always, you can remain anonymous.
