Police arrest suspect involved in south-side party shooting

Police search for suspect who shot man at south-side party

SAN ANTONIO – A house party turns into a crime scene after a man was shot.

The shooting happened at a south-side home in the 100 block of Drury Lane around 1 a.m. Monday.

Police said the suspect had a handgun in the front pocket of his shorts and witnesses at the party said the shooting was accidental. Police believe friends at a party were playing too rough with each other.

During that process, a man was shot and it’s unclear what kind of game these guys were playing when the gun went off.

The victim, in his 20s, was shot in the hip and was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.

Police located the suspect in his backyard and took him into custody. The suspect was transported to downtown Baptist Hospital after he complained his arm was hurting.

Charges are pending.
