SAN ANTONIO - Converse police have arrested a suspect in the stabbing death of a woman at a Converse apartment early Thursday morning.
Thursday evening police arrested a man identified as Elvin Armas.
The woman was found unconscious and bleeding out around 4 am Thursday at the Towne East Village Apartments.
According to investigators, she tried banging on several doors for help, but was unable to get a response.
“They were startled. They were worried that it might be suspicious so they didn't go outside to check,” Converse Police Chief Fidel Villegas said.
Villegas said the woman doesn't appear to be a resident, but was likely stabbed inside the parking lot of the complex.
That’s where the department identified a white Lexus they believe is somehow connected to the case.
He said the suspect isn't on the lease either
Management wouldn't allow Eyewitness News teams on site, but one resident told us through a fence just how rattled he and his neighbors are.
“Pretty unsafe,” one resident, who preferred to go only by Jeremy, said. “Makes me kind of wonder who did it.”
Converse Police said they have nearly all their investigators on the case.
The woman who was stabbed has not been identified, but is described by the Bexar County Medical Examiner as a Caucasian woman in her mid-30’s.
