New Braunfels Police warn of officer impersonator

NEW BRAUNFELS - New Braunfels Police asked for help in the search for a man who has been impersonating a law enforcement officer, according to a Facebook post Wednesday.

Police said the man is wearing a uniform similar to a Texas DPS Trooper and pulls vehicles over for different violations and may ask to search a victim’s vehicle.

The impersonator’s vehicle resembles an unmarked law enforcement vehicle and has red and blue emergency lights in the windshield, according to police.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5-foot 9-inches tall and 220 pounds with a pot belly. Police said he has brown hair, brown eyes and has a beard.

Police said if you are unsure whether an officer making contact with you is legitimate, call 911 immediately to confirm the officer’s identity.
