Murder Suspect: "I was upset, lashed out"

SAN ANTONIO - SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio police arrested 31-year-old Otis T. McKane in connection with the shooting death of Det. Benjamin Marconi.

On Monday at 9:10 p.m at a perp walk, several officers escorted McKane to a patrol car. He was dressed in a white t-shirt, black shorts and black tennis shoes. When several reporters asked McKane why he shot Marconi,  McKane said he was upset and wanted to see his son.

“I’ve been through several custody battles and I was upset at the situation that I was in and I lashed out at someone that didn’t deserve it,” McKane said.

When asked by reporters if McKane had anything to say to Marconi's family he said, “Sorry.”
