Medical examiner identifies man found dead at east-side bus stop

SAN ANTONIO - An investigation is underway after a man was found dead at a bus stop.

The medical examiner identified the man as 41-year-old Gerald Harps.

The discovery happened Saturday morning when a friend found Harps on the sidewalk on Hays Street near North New Braunfels Avenue, according to the police.

Officers said they have very few clues and there has been no official ruling on how Harps died. Police did say he suffered obvious head trauma.

Investigators believe Harps may have been homeless and witnesses told them he could usually be found sitting at the bus stop at all hours.
