SAN ANTONIO - A man was shot and killed in his doorway Friday morning on the east side.
The man’s brother called police out to a home in the 4700 block of Belinda Lee around 8:30 a.m.
The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Lonnie Franklin. Police say he came outside and started his car because it was cold outside.

When he went back, police say the suspect approached him and shot him in the upper torso. His brother lives with him and heard the gunshot from inside the house.
His next door neighbor is in disbelief.
"I was just truly shocked to find crime tape around the house, and over here at my house," she said.
Franklin worked as a Chef at Fort Sam. One of his closet friends just spoke with him two days ago. She said Franklin, a father, was a tough hardworking man, who never gave up.
