Local church leader, teacher accused of luring teen boys into sex acts

Teacher, church leader accused of sex abuse

A Judson Independent School District teacher and local church leader has been accused of using his position to lure as many as a dozen boys into sex acts, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

28-year-old Jared Anderson, an English teacher and an educator at an unnamed church, used parties to get young boys naked and persuade them into indecent acts, said police.

"He's having parties where he's encouraging these kids to strip naked, to perform sex acts on each other, sometimes on him," said Sgt. Jesse Salame, San Antonio Police Department. "Sometimes taking photographs, very graphic, disgusting sexual things going on."

Anderson has been arrested on two counts of sexual performance of a child and one count of indecency with a child. The allegations came to light this week when two parents reported the parties to Anderson's church and police.

The church has since banned the child sex suspect.

Police said on March 12 they started investigating parties Anderson hosted for 10 to 12 boys from his church over the past few months.

Investigators said one party was called "Bros Night," a night where a post-it at Anderson's home read: The last one to get naked gets the first dare. Police said on that night in February, a naked Anderson made the boys crawl around in the nude and play 'games'.

An arrest warrant richly detailed the vulgar, lewd games performed at Anderson's home. Amongst the challenges encouraged by Anderson, who submitted the most daring suggestions, included, having the teens touch each other, hug, wrestle, and hug him while disrobed.

Police arrested Anderson for the allegations involving a 15 and 17-year-old boy. Investigators said the other victims are between the same ages.

However, officers expect more victims in the case to come forward. "If there's that many, there's always a possibility there could be more," said Sgt. Salame. "And again these are disgusting, heinous acts committed against these boys. We're happy to have got him very quickly."

Police said Judson ISD was notified of the allegations. The following is a statement from Judson ISD regarding the allegations against teacher Jared Anderson:

Judson High School teacher Jared Anderson has been put on administrative leave pending the results of an investigation being conducted by San Antonio Police of allegations of sexual misconduct.  Mr. Anderson has been employed by JISD for two and a half years as an English teacher. Judson ISD is obviously very concerned about these charges and will fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation by SAPD, but will let the legal process take its course. As has been explained in the past, Judson ISD conducts a multi-layered screening process with every potential employee that checks for any and all felony or misdemeanor charges.

Steve Linscomb, JISD Director of Communications

Police said so far none of the victims are from that district. The district added it will be following the investigation closely and will respond as circumstances warrant.

A preliminary report states Anderson has confessed to the accused behavior.
