S.A.'s little ones help break ground for Legoland, Sea Life Aquarium

SAN ANTONIO - On Tuesday, San Antonio's little ones got to help lay the foundation for LEGOLAND Discovery Center and SEA LIFE Aquarium opening here in the summer of 2018.

Community leaders and both attractions' general managers joined forces Tuesday afternoon to break ground on the entertainment destinations to come.

The $20 million-dollar project is expected to be the 'ultimate indoor playground'. Both will be located in the Shops at Rivercenter.

The LEGOLAND Discovery Center promises:

  • LEGO play areas 
  • Kingdom Quest dark ride 
  • Party rooms
  • 4D cinema 
  • MINILAND area reflecting San Antonio's iconic buildings (San Antonians will have the chance to nominate city landmarks in a contest)

As for SEA LIFE San Antonio Aquarium:

  • Displays of diverse marine life from local and international waters 
  • Tropical ocean tank with a walk-through underwater tunnel
