Kingston High School students overwhelmingly voted for a "very special" homecoming queen this year.
Senior Esther Listle won the vote of nearly every member of her 170 person class.
"This is just them loving her and being with her, growing up with her and just wanting to celebrate her,” Robin Alberts, senior class advisor, wrote in a statement.
Listle was selected for her kindness, honesty, school spirit, and academic perseverance, said North Kitsap School District spokesperson Jennifer Markaryan.
Listle said she would never forget the moment, as she accepted her crown and a bouquet of red roses during halftime of Kingston’s football game against Port Angeles. Listle was crowned queen amidst cheers and the crowd chanting her name.
It was a special moment not only for Listle, but the entire community.
