Husband suspected in wife's murder arrested in Mississippi

Man accused of killing wife under arrest

COMAL COUNTY -- The Comal County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the death of a 57-year-old woman whose body was found inside a burning house.

The woman in the house fire was identified as Gayle Hendry of New Braunfels and her autopsy revealed she died as a result of a homicide.

According to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office, the New Braunfels Fire Department was called around 2:40 a.m. on Nov. 15 to the 700 block of Forest Trail for a structure fire. Once the fire was out, Hendry’s body was discovered inside the house.

Based on information recovered by the Comal County detectives, Comal County fire marshal, the Texas state fire marshal, and the Rankin County, Mississippi Sheriff’s Office, they were able to obtain a warrant for Hendry’s husband, 60-year-old Gary Hendry’s arrest of murder.

According to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office, Gary Hendry was arrested around 1 p.m. on Nov. 16 in Rankin County, Mississippi.

This investigation is still ongoing.
