High-speed motorcycle chase ends when driver stops for gas

SAN ANTONIO - A high-speed chase involving a stolen motorcycle going over 100 miles per hour ended when the driver decided to stop for gas, according to Bexar County police.

Police said it all started just before 10 a.m. in southwest Bexar County off Loop 1604 when police spotted the stolen Honda motorcycle going 100 miles per hour.

Authorities said the chase was initially called off citing safety concerns due to heavy traffic.

Shortly after the pursuit was called off, a canine officer spotted the suspect pumping gas into the motorcycle at a northwest-side HEB on Bandera Road and Loop 410.

The man was treated at the scene for minor injuries by Leon Valley EMS and taken into custody without incident.

There's no word yet on what charges he may face.
