Gov. Abbott files for re-election for second term

AUSTIN - Governor Greg Abbott has officially filed for re-election for a second term as Texas Governor.

He made the announcement in a news release Friday. According to the Texas Tribune, there is no Democratic challenger yet. The filing period goes through the next month.

The news release also announced his “Front of the Line” veterans policy plan.

The Governor will give details of the plan at the Charles Johnson House in Austin on Saturday, which is also Veterans Day.

The Governor will also host a Veterans Day picnic for everyone in attendance.
