'Gotcha Covered' reaches record high donations

Sunday was one for the record books! The "Gotcha Covered Donation Drive" received 25 thousand pounds of clothing and food for local charities.

SAN ANTONIO -- The Gotcha Covered event reached record high donations this year.

The donation drive was held at the Park North Shopping Center on Sunday. Volunteers helped unload boxes full of items for several hours. They gathered 25 thousand pounds of clothing and food.

"This is unreal. This is the first time in 21 years that we collect at least 50 cases of new items," said Howie Nestel, founder. "Thank you very much San Antonio! Gotcha covered 21st year, this is amazing."

All of the donations will go directly to help the clients of the San Antonio Food Bank, Haven for Hope and the Battered Women and Children's Shelter.
