ARCHIVE: D.A. to meet with group about infamous nurse Genene Jones

This is an archived report previously published on KENS5.com on October 29, 2013.

A group familiar with the infamous nurse Genene Jones will meet in San Antonio to take the first steps in keeping the convicted baby killer in jail.

Bexar County District Attorney Susan Reed will sit down with Petti McClellan, the mother of the baby whom Jones was convicted of killing.

She will also meet with Marina Rodriguez, the woman KENS 5 spoke with who is willing to have her child's body exhumed because she's convinced Jones killed her son 30 years ago.

She will also meet Andy Kahan, a victims' advocate who has spent time tracking down families who believe Jones killed their children.

D.A. Reed said Genene Jones could be out of prison in a matter of months due to sentencing laws in place at the time of her conviction. That is, unless new evidence proves Jones' guilt beyond a reasonable doubt in other deaths.
