Mexican singer Vicente Fernandez endorses Hillary Clinton in new song

Vicente Fernandez backs Hillary Clinton

SAN ANTONIO -- Ranchera music star, Vicente Fernandez is taking a stance.

In his new corrido song, he is urging Latinos in the United States to vote for Hillary Clinton.

"I think it's a good option so people can get to know who Hillary Clinton is,” said Carlos Callejas, who owns a fruteria stand inside the Pica Pica shopping center.

Callejas and others who were shopping in the mall hadn't seen the video yet, but once they did, they loved it.

"I thought it was fabulous because the Hispanic vote is a little reluctant to vote right now but if you don't vote you vote for trump," Anna Rodriguez said.

Anna Farias with Republican Party of Bexar County said while she's a huge fan of the Mexican born and raised artist's music, Hillary needs to find someone else to endorse her.

"Hillary is not connecting with the Latinos here in the U.S.," Farias said.

Farias said the new song should be directed to someone else.

"With all due respect to him, instead of doing it to us he should be signing it to the Mexican president and other corrupt Mexican officials."

But one shopper, Richard Rodriguez, said, "If we all unite, it's American power and that's what we need to vote and continue having what we have."
