Driver dies in rollover accident

SAN ANTONIO - A driver was killed in a rollover accident on the city’s north side Tuesday morning.

Police said the accident occurred around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday at Highway 281 near Encino Parkway.

Officers said the driver lost control and hit a light pole when the car then rolled into the median and caught fire.

The driver was trapped inside the car and first responders were not able to get the driver out. Officers said the driver was so badly burned the Medical Examiner will likely need to use dental records to identify them.

Police do not know what caused the driver to lose control and the crash is under investigation.
