Driver sought in south side hit-and-run

SAN ANTONIO - Crime Stoppers is asking for assistance in locating a suspect involved in a hit and run on the city’s south side.

The incident happened on Aug. 20 shortly after 10 p.m. on Somerset Road near Fairmeadows Street.

Police said an unidentified male driving either a white Chevy Tahoe or a white GMC Yukon, hit a pedestrian as he was walking northbound.

The driver later returned to the scene where he picked up the victim and drove him to a nearby hospital but failed to leave any information with authorities. He is wanted for failure to stop and render aid and causing serious bodily injury.

The suspect is a Hispanic male weighing approximately 250 pounds and stands around 5’ 10” tall.  

The victim told police the suspect had brown hair in a military style haircut, brown eyes and a goatee.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call San Antonio Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP (7867).

Tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 and can choose to remain anonymous.
