'Don't Mess with Texas' turns 30, celebrates with statewide event

SAN ANTONIO – “Don’t Mess with Texas” is turning 30 and they’re celebrating by cleaning up the city.

On Oct. 8, Keep San Antonio Beautiful invites people to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the “Don’t Mess with Texas” campaign by taking action to prevent litter in a statewide event.

The event is being held at Olmos Basis Park where the Trash and Treasure Hunt will be taking place. Not only will the cleanup be happening, but there will also be games! Participants will be entered to win great prizes donated by TxDOT.

Gloves, bags, grabbers and vests will be provided along with water and snacks.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and the trash cleanup runs from 9 a.m. to noon. To register for the event you can email at keepsabeautiful@gmail.com or call 210-685-8222.
