Custom AR-15 rifles being raffled to benefit family of fallen firefighter

SAN ANTONIO - A group of local firefighters have come together to help raise money for the families of three local firemen impacted by a shopping center fire.

Firefighter Scott Deem lost his life in the fire and two others were injured including Firefighter Brad Phipps.

Several Firefighters and community members, including New Braunfels Fireman Jason Wallace, are holding an event at Cooter Browns Saloon in Helotes, TX, on Sunday, June 4, where they will announce the winners of two custom designed AR-15 rifles.

Wallace announced the raffle on his Facebook page Wednesday afternoon with photos of the two rifles.

One of the rifles is specifically designed to honor Scott Deem and Ladder 35.

The Facebook post had been shared more than a thousand times, including shares from NFL players, wrestlers and actors. The raffle has raised more than $40,000 as of Friday afternoon.

Wallace said the goal is to raise $100,000 by Sunday.

According to the post, you do not have to be present to win.

Raffle tickets can be purchased on the Eventbrite page for $10.
