Co-owners of company in KENS 5 investigation charged with scamming elderly

Men accused of stealing $95k for roof repairs

The co-owners of a roofing company KENS 5 investigated this summer are behind bars Thursday, charged with scamming the elderly.

Police arrested Richard Stevens and Mark Rodriguez of Durizon Roofing. The company is now shut-down.

But when it was in business, KENS 5 received complaints from viewers, saying work went unfinished, or the job was poorly done.

San Antonio police said Stevens and Rodriguez also scammed 15 elderly homeowners out of a total of $95,000.

Both men face theft from elderly felony charges.

Police think there may be at least 60 additional victims who have yet to come forward.
