Cibolo police close to arrest in inflatable rental murder case

CPD close to arrest in first murder case in six years

CIBOLO, Texas – Cibolo police have a murder to solve and said they’re close to making an arrest.

A coworker found 27-year-old Rand Cameron Van-Wert stabbed to death Monday morning inside the Jumping for Joy inflatables business on FM 78.

This is the first homicide investigation in Cibolo in six years.

Investigators said they believe Van-Wert knew his killer.

“This was not a random act, this was something that occurred between two parties that knew each other,” Cibolo Police Chief Gary Cox said. “We’re moving swiftly to bring that person to justice.”

Officers said they hope to learn more about what led up to the murder once the suspect is in custody.
