SAN ANTONIO - Christmas falls on a Monday this year, and if you're planning to buy online or ship, the deadlines are coming up.
With billions of packages going out this holiday season, the faster you head to the post office, the cheaper it'll be.
"You will be paying substantially more to try to get that package to its destination in one to two days." San Antonio Post Office customer relations coordinator, Becky Hernandez said.
- Tuesday 12/19 was the deadline for first-class mail
- Wednesday 12/20 is the deadline for priority
- Friday 12/22 is the deadline for priority express
But you can still get your package delivered by Christmas.
"Today would be a great day to get your mail in the mail if you can if you still are not ready you can ship priority mail express until Friday," Hernandez said.
Beacon Hill branch manager, Michael Moreno says patience and pre-planning is key.
"It's now taking three or four days because of the number of items being shipped. It's not a normal season." Moreno said.
