Capital murder suspects walks into hands of authorities

SAN ANTONIO - A capital murder suspect walked right into the hands of authorities Wednesday night.

In fact, he was at the Bexar County Detention Center when he discovered he was a wanted man.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said this suspect left some property from a prior visit to the detention center, that's when he found out he was wanted for capital murder.

Before releasing property back to Kenton Maurice Haynes, BCD officers ran his name through a law enforcement system. That’s when they found out San Antonio police got a warrant for the 22-year-old's arrest on capital murder charges.

Deputies said Haynes went outside as they checked on his property and ran him through the system. When deputies tried to take him back into custody, he ran away from the jail.

Authorities caught him on Martin Street and Colorado Street.

Now, he adds evading arrest to the capital murder charge.
