BCSO sees 9th deputy arrested since January

It's become an all too familiar headline: A Bexar County Sheriff's deputy arrested. Since January, nine deputies have found themselves behind bars.

SAN ANTONIO - It's become an all too familiar headline: A Bexar County Sheriff's deputy arrested.

Since January, nine deputies have found themselves behind bars.

BCSO said Krystal Borrego, a deputy assigned to the Bexar County Jail, was arrested early this morning for driving while intoxicated.

San Antonio Police tell us Borrego was picked up at I-37 Highway and Hot Wells around 2:30 a.m.

No other details were available.

Borrego is the 9th Bexar County Sheriff's deputies arrested this year.

Loren Adams, Sabrina Moreno and Rita Alvarez have since resigned

Garrett Flores' employment was terminated

Cynthia Benavidez is on leave without pay.

Michael Pena is on administrative leave.

Michael Magana, who was arrested in July for DWI, is still working at the jail while his case proceeds.

Matthew Fernandez who was arrested in January for a family violence assault charge was re-hired in July.

As for Borrego, she is now on administrative leave while the investigation takes place.
