Arrest made in Halloween party shooting

Police have made an arrest in connection to a shooting at a Halloween party last year.

The incident happened on the 2900 block of Aspen Meadow, near the intersection of Loop 410 and Ingram Road, around 5 a.m. on October 30th of last year. One witness said there were more than a hundred people at the home.

22-year-old Roberto Contreras was dressed as Freddy Krueger when he reportedly tried to enter the party with two other individuals. When his group was denied entrance, a fight broke out.

During the fight, Contreras acquired a shotgun and shot one victim in the abdomen. Four others were injured after Contreras and another shooter fired into the crowded party.

Police said one of the shooting victims identified Contreras, and he was arrested early Wednesday morning. Contreras is charged with aggravated assault.
