ACL 'Blueprint' gets upgrade as Jay Z added to dazzling lineup

AUSTIN - Whether you know him as HOVA., Jigga, Jazzy, Iceberg Slim or Shawn Carter, he may now also be called 'Headliner of ACL.'

That's right. Rapper Jay-Z is the latest to be added to a dazzling roster of acts new and old for the 2017 Austin City Music Festival.

The 2017 festival lineup was first announced Thursday morning.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chance The Rapper, The Killers, Gorillaz, and Martin Garrix and the XX were originally headliners of the three-day music celebration. Jay Z was added to the top of the bill amid social media buzz later in the day.



This year’s festival will start on Friday, Oct. 6 – Sunday, Oct. 8 for weekend one. Weekend two is Oct.13 - Sunday, Oct.15.

Tickets are $255 and go on sale today at 10 a.m. One-day passes will go on sale this summer.

ACL will take place in its regular spot, Zilker Park of Austin, Texas.

Rising R&B artist and San Antonio native, Xavier Omar, is also on the artist lineup.

Other hot names include Ice Cube, Ryan Adams, Bonobo, Solange, and ASAP Ferg.
