Police say an attempt to apprehend a prostitute on the west side turned into a stabbing for one man.
Officers responded to the scene on Santiago and South Hamilton around 2 a.m. That's where a 54-year-old called police after he'd been stabbed three times in the chest.
He told police he picked up a prostitute, but when he refused to pay her upfront, she pulled a knife and stabbed him several times. She then ran off, the man said.
The man is recovering at University Hospital.
Police have not found the alleged prostitute.
