SAN ANTONIO -- Stopping a dentist's office from operating without a license has been as tough as pulling teeth, reports say. Yet the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners has stopped Angel Celedron from dentistry with his arrest Wednesday. The 48 year old was charged with practicing dentistry without a license. He is out of jail on a $10,000 bond.
According to an arrest warrant, in mid-April the Board of Dental Examiners received a complaint against Celedron. He was allegedly using the alias Able Seledon. The alleged victim says he performed orthodontic work on her from October 2008 through the summer of 2009. The arrest document says it happened at his home which serves as an office in the 2300 block of Nopal.
Celedon had been investigated by the board in 2003 and 2008 investigators said. He was reportedly issued a cease and desist notice.
The warrant says the City of San Antonio's Code Compliance Office also got nine complaints about the suspect's business from January 2005 - July 2009. The final complaint specifically described the business as a dentist's office that did not have disability access.
A search warrant was executed by a code compliance investigator following the final complaint, the warrant said. According to the investigator, they took pictures of dental equipment, drugs commonly used in dental practices, appointment books and a large waiting room.
