Westmar Bust
A New Braunfels car dealership came up one car short on list of inventory, but that car was recovered Tuesday afternoon by SAPD undercover officers.
A quaint house sat on the property at 1802 Westmar, but hidden behind the garage door police found the missing 2000 model black Honda.
Police say they also found a white Acura built with a hodge-podge of stolen parts sitting in the driveway. A collection of motors, doors, fenders, a hood, and a sun roof, all with different Vehicle Identification numbers (VIN) was amassed in the backyard.
Hondas and Acuras are some of the top ten most stolen cars in the nation, and they are very popular with San Antonio thieves, as well.
A 24-year-old Hispanic man was arrested and taken downtown to face some tough questions about a suspected chop-shop that he may have been running at the Westmar address.
He faces charges of felony possession of stolen property. Police say they got an insider's tip as to the whereabouts of that missing car, which lead them to the home.
