Two workers hospitalized after oil rig explosion

ATASCOSA COUNTY -- Two men are recovering at a San Antonio hospital following an explosion Monday night in Atascosa County.

Atascosa County Sheriff David Soward said both men work for an oil field company, although the exact company was unknown.

The men were working with a water well perforating gun inside a trailer about 16 miles south of Charlotte near CR 343 when it exploded, Soward said.

Both men were flown to San Antonio Military Medical Center. a hospital spokesperson said one of the men is in stable condition while the other remains in critical condition
