You know that old adage "You can run, but you can't hide?" Well, that seems to have held true for a Texas man wanted by the authorities.
Sean Michael Smith, on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list, has been captured in Washoe County, Nevada.
Smith was convicted of indecency with a child involving a 14-year-old girl in Aubrey, Texas in 1999.
DPS lists other charges against Smith: assault causing bodily injury of a family member, evading arrest, criminal mischief, and burglary of a habitation.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Smith failed to register as a convicted sex offender while he was in Denton County. As a result, he was added to the Most-Wanted list in July 2011.
Smith was caught after he reportedly failed to yield to an emergency vehicle as he was driving in Reno, Nevada on August 17. The result for the traffic violation lead to the discovery of his outstanding warrant for his arrest in Texas.
