SAN ANTONIO — In May 2008, 65 percent of Bexar County voters overwhelmingly approved the construction of a new performing arts center.
Nearly four years later, the Tobin Center is well on its way to becoming San Antonio's newest architectural treasure, featuring more than 17,000 seats, 29 luxury boxes and state of the art acoustics.
The center is being funded, in part, by a voter-approved bond, which passed in 2008.
The Tobin Center also offers a unique 600-seat outdoor space and provides an exciting link to the historic San Antonio River.
Construction on the Tobin Center broke ground last year, and a grand opening is set for September of 2014.
