SAN ANTONIO --Police say a pair of thieves who targeted a Terrell Hills elderly couple has been busted… in Massachusetts!

In the scam last January, the woman told her victims she was from the groundwater district, led them outside… as her male counterpart ransacked the home.

Now, the Bexar County District Attorney has issued an arrest warrant for the couple, and local police want them back in Texas to face the music.

Terrell Hills Police Chief Greg Whitlock said, “They are going from town to town, spending probably two or three weeks at a time, until things start getting hot. And then they’re moving to another town.”

Wandering, modern-day gypsies: that’s how Terrell Hills police describe the pair of alleged scam artists.

Police say 43-year old Dina Miller and 36-year old George Demetro were caught pretending to be plumbing contractors, visiting and stealing from seniors in the small town of Braintree, Massachusetts.

“It’s good police work, good police work on both parts,” said Whitlock.

Braintree detectives found evidence in the shiny black pickup, linking the pair to a motel in San Antonio.
Whitlock showed the suspects to the Terrell Hills victims in a lineup.

He added, “Both victims immediately identified that woman. And our victim, the elderly lady, started crying and said, “I can’t believe she did that.”

Police say she identified not only Miller, but the pickup, and some of the jewelry found inside it. East coast authorities say the truck was stuffed with 60-thousand dollars in cash, too.

Police say there’s evidence that in the last 3-months, Miller traveled thousands of miles, visiting pawn shops from San Antonio, Texas, to Las Vegas, Nevada, only to be captured in Massachusetts.

Terrell Hills police believe there are other victims out there. If you recognize the couple, you’re asked to call Terrell Hills police, at 210-824-7401.
