SAN ANTONIO -- A north-side woman is devastated after thieves broke into her home and stole her two dogs. Now, Peggy Riley, the owner of the dogs, is making a plea to the public for their safe return home.

The Yorkshire Terriers disappeared sometime between 1 and 2 p.m. Friday. The animals were taken from Riley's Stone Oak home, located in the 900 block of Almadin.

Both dogs, named Baxter and Cooper, are small and look like puppies, but the animals are actually 9-years-old.  Each one has health conditions, and Baxter recently had surgery.

"He has to be walked everyday, if he doesn't have a walk then he's going to have to have a repeat surgery or the potential to lose a hind leg, so they have critical care that has to be given to them," Riley said.

Her neighbors are now coming forward, saying they too have had break-ins, and feel there may be a connection.

Together they've raised money for the dogs' safe return home, and are offering a $4,000 reward. They say no questions will be asked about how the dogs disappearance. If you know anything, call this hotline at 210- 415-1800.
