AUSTIN -- A 62-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly strangling a woman who asked him for a sandwich, police say.
According to a police arrest warrant, Stephen Finley is charged with assault by strangulation/suffocation in connection to a Aug. 3 attack at the Crown Plaza Hotel, 6121 North I-35.
Police said the assault all started when the woman allegedly asked Finley to get her a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich.
The sandwich order allegedly upset Finley. The woman told police he called her a profane name before he began beating and strangling her.
Court papers call Finley a "transient." His bond was set at $20,000.
