An NISD teacher has been arrested on a charge of credit card abuse.

Police arrested Candice Small, a teacher at Krueger Elementary School. They say she stole a colleague's credit card and used it at an HEB -- and according to jail records, it's not the first time she's been arrested for theft.

According to an arrest warrant, north-side police started their investigation on March 5, when another educator called them to the school in the 9900 block of Wild Horse Parkway. The alleged victim said her Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union card had been stolen out of an unattended purse on Feb. 26.

Police found that the card had been used without her permission at a HEB in 7900 block of Guilbeau Rd, according to the arrest warrant. She reportedly gave police the time and amount of the transaction.

The arrest document said the victim suspected Small due to past incidents on the campus. Police said they reviewed surveillance tape from the HEB. According to investigators, they were able to get video stills of the illegal purchases and the suspect leaving the store.

The warrant said Krueger Elementary's principal and two other employees unrelated to the investigation identified the person in the video stills as Small. A warrant was signed for the educator's arrest on Friday.

She's is out on a $3,000 bond. Jail records show she was arrested in early July 2009 on theft charges. Officials have not commented on her employment status with NISD..
