A San Antonio police officer is recovering after his patrol car was rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver.
An off-duty trooper said at round 2:30 a.m. Saturday he spotted a DWI suspect on Hwy. 281 at Grayson.
He said he pulled the suspect over and called for support. An SAPD officer, who was patrolling with a passenger from M.A.D.D., arrived to assist the trooper.
The DWI suspect was placed in the patrol car.
But, the officer said he looked up to see a driver heading toward him at a high rate of speed. In the collision that followed, the DWI suspect in the patrol car was pinned inside the vehicle.
All those involved suffered only minor injuries. The driver who hit the patrol car was taken into custody on suspicion of DWI.
