SAN ANTONIO -- The restaurant chain Sushi Zushi released a statement Friday afternoon announcing the temporary suspension of operations, closing all of its locations.
In San Antonio, Sushi Zushi has four locations, but the released statement said the restaurant intends to reopen as soon as possible.
Management decided to cease operations following "an unanticipated internal reaction to news of a routine I-9 audit." As a result, the statement continues by stating that a number of employees elected not to report to work.
The government did not raid the operations nor were any employees detained, according to the release.
