A historic home built in 1902 went up in flames Thursday morning.
Fire Chief Oscar Gonzalez says the fire started on the second floor of the home, located in the 300 block of King William. Gonzales says the fire quickly spread to the attic.
No one was hurt, and no one was home at the time.
The owner of the home said she left for an appointment almost two hours before the fire started. She said she was trying to sell the home, but the deal fell through.
She used to operate the mansion as a bed and breakfast.
Neighbors say it's important to salvage such historic homes. A group who lives in the area plans to keep a close eye on the situation.
