SAN ANTONIO -- Firefighters say a shoe shining machine is to blame for starting a house fire on the city's northwest side.
The family and their dogs safely got out of the two-story home on Claybrook after it caught on fire just after midnight on Thursday.
San Antonio firefighters said the blaze started in a shoe buffer that must have shorted out.
Although firefighters quickly doused the flames, the fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damage to the home and another $30,000 in damage to property.
