SAN ANTONIO -- New and disturbing details have been revealed in the case of local daycare owners accused of abusing their own adopted children.
Late Thursday afternoon authorities arrested 42-year-old Tim Archuleta on three charges of injury to a child.
His wife, Iliana Archuleta, and nephew, Rogelio Archuleta, were arrested last month in connection to the case.
The Archuletas own the Honey Tree Preschool and Child Development Center off of Culebra Road.
Investigators said they don't believe any children at the daycare were abused.
However, according to court documents, their three adoptive children, an 8-year old boy and 10-year old twins, were found severely malnourished at their home.
Investigators said the children were forced to sleep in the bathtub and had to use a bucket to relieve themselves.
The children claimed they were also forced to hurt each other by biting off each other's toes. One of them was forced to bite off part of his sister's ear.
According to Archuleta's arrest warrant, he watched while his wife forced the children to eat butter to feel full.
Bexar County Sheriff's deputies said Tim Archuleta would beat the kids with a back scratcher.
The children also claimed they were usually fed just a half a sandwich a day.
The children are now in the custody of the state.
The daycare was temporarily shut down while authorities investigate.
