The latest job report numbers from July show unemployment remained steady locally, at 7.7 percent.
Eva Esquivel of Workforce Solutions Alamo spoke with KENS 5's Barry Davis about its significance.
Workforce Solutions Alamo looked at its historical data, and found that the San Antonio jobless rate has remained relatively steady for the past two years.
"Seasonal trends continue to be at forefront of changes in our job numbers," Esquivel said. San Antonio sees losses during the summer time because, for example, of the 17 school districts which release hourly-wage staff members from their summer duties. A loss of 1,000 federal government jobs were recorded because they were temporary, like Census Bureau work.
