San Antonio City Council members have voted to purchase the Red Berry estate.
The city agreed to buy the mansion and it's property for $2.25 million.
The more than 14,000-square-foot mansion is located next to Willow Springs Golf Course and the Salado Creek Bike Trail.
City leaders say they want to build housing on the property, as well as expand parkland, but no specific plans have been laid out yet.
