SLIDESHOW: Sounds of Fiesta: Marchers make merry music

More than 30 high school bands marched at the 73rd Battle of Flowers Band Festival at Alamo Stadium on Thursday night. Featured bands from Hondo, Taft and East Central high schools performed on-field shows, and the UTSA band also entertained the large Fiesta crowd. The night concluded with all bands (about 3,500 performers) playing "Bootin' & Scootin" songs together on the field. Award winners were: Spirit Award: Marion High School. 1st Place 3A and below: Antonian. 2nd Place 3A and below: Jourdanton. 1st Place 4A: Harlandale. 2nd Place 4A: Lanier. 1st Place 5A: O'Connor. 2nd Place 5A: MacArthur. People's Choice Award: Sam Houston.
