The San Antonio Police Department and SAFD were called to the scene of a fatal rollover accident in the 4000 block of Vance Jackson under Loop 410.
Officers said the driver was driving at an excessive rate of speed heading east on the access road in the 2600 block of Loop 410 when he lost control of his vehicle and plummeted into a cement lamp post.
They said the driver suffered massive injuries and was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to authorities, the driver who was not carrying identification, was later identified as Randy Van Buren.
SAPD closed down parts of Vance Jackson at around 4 p.m. Tuesday so that crews could clear the scene and conduct an investigation.
