The Optimist Club of San Antonio is showing their appreciation for SAPD.
Tuesday morning, the group gave their Officer of the Year Award to Barton Borgens from the city's Central Substation.
"I'm very honored. There are police officers throughout the city that do great things throughout the year and don't receive a whole lot of recognition. So, I accept this on their behalf, as well," said Borgens.
Officer Borgens was nominated by one of his peers, after an investigation that led to the arrest of three murder suspects.
