They put their lives on the line to protect us every day and this weekend female African American police officers were honored for their service.
Current and retired SAPD officers were honored at the 25th Annual Status of Women luncheon was held Saturday at the Hilton Airport.
Organizers said they wanted to show their appreciation to dedicated women on the police force.
