SAN ANTONIO -- Officers called out their helicopter early Monday morning to find an intoxicated man firing his gun in a wooded area, police say.
Residents in the Solana Ridge subdivision, on the city's southwest side, reported hearing gun shots around 2:30 a.m.
Police said that responding officers also heard the shots and called the Blue Eagle helicopter to help locate the gunman.
Officers said they found an intoxicated 35-year-old man who apparently thought it would be fun to go outside and shot off a few rounds.
The man, who lives in the subdivision, faces charges of unlawful discharge of a firearm in a municipality.
